With HMRC focusing on record keeping for smaller businesses, what an excellent idea to provide firms with such an easy way to assess whether their client's records make the grade or not. Bob Edwards' web-based Business Records Checker does just this. I'm sure that many practitioners will be relieved to have a tool on their web site that offers clients a realistic assessment on the state of their records. Of course there is also an opportunity to work with clients to tidy up record keeping rather than having to "pick up the pieces" after a HMRC records check. I know which I would rather do!"
